Posted by Anonymous on 2014/09/18 under Kids I saw a couple announcing on Facebook that they are expecting a child, and a woman congratulated them and said she prays that God gives them a boy! Why would you say something like that? If the parents would have said something about it, maybe that would have been acceptable, but this made me so angry! In what way is a boy better than a girl? And it wasn’t even a man saying it! I simply cannot understand this kind of behaviour! Can anyone explain it to me???

Maybe the woman knows them and the couple mentioned in real life that they wanted a boy?
history… that’s all it comes down to, the deeply embedded thought of boys bring prosperity… china has yet to discard such absurd and ancient beliefs… but maybe its because in theory… boys are easy to raise, and the lady thinks that as parents… they themselves are inferior… i do not know, nor could i accurately say without being completely offensive in some form or another…
