One thing remains clear. My parents were dead wrong in their reasoning for sending my sisters over. I wanted them to come to Canada so they can have a better study opportunity and because it's only fair that they come too since I was granted the opportunity.
However, my parents claim they are here to also "help me emotionally" and "keep me company". Well, the truth is, I don't like them around!
They are not helping emotionally or keeping me company. They're actually making it harder for me to socialise at family friend gatherings as I don't interact the same way with others as I do with family. My family and social lives are separate. So their presence brings discomfort. As far as emotional support and social encouragement goes, I'll be better off without them.
Of course I can't tell my parents this because it's disrespectful 🤷♂️
