Normally if my kids did something bad I would spank them. I have 5 children, 7 year old, 8 year old, two of them are 13 years old and a 16 year old. I wondered if there is an age that you stop spanking. Because my kids are normally well behaved then I rarely have to spank them, but when I do, I do it bare-bottom. I usually lower their pants myself as well because it shows I have authority, I never spank hard though, it’s more of the humiliation when their siblings are in the room. On one occasion my 16 year old said something very rude when her friends were in the room so I pulled her on my lap, lowered her pants to her ankles and spanked her harder than normal because she embarrassed me in front of other people so I did the same to her. Did I over-react and should I be spanking a 16 year old?
I say spank them till they move out. My child is 22 and she still lives with me, so if she does something like stays out too late the I spank her bare bottom. It still works and as long as it works keep doing it.
