Posted by Anonymous on 2015/07/04 under Uncategorized I often end up thinking about life, particularly about how short life is. I don’t know if it’s just me but I can feel every second passing by that makes me realize life is so damn short. And if we accept that at the end of the tunnel there is nothing, just a long deep sleep then what do we live for. It makes me sad that you can just live your life once the choices and decisions you make are non reversible. And at the end of your life you will look back and say “I could have done things differently”. But no matter what you achieve in life whether it’s success, love or even happiness it doesn’t even matter. And some wise man say a worthy life is life spent for others. I want to agree with this thought it makes some sense but I couldn’t disagree more with it. I don’t believe in god and I think that the universe doesn’t give us purpose, we are just lucky coincidence. I don’t agree with the people saying humans are something else. For me humans are not much different then any living organism in their purpose. We differ from living organisms just because we are more evolved, we have rationality and stuff but that doesn’t change a thing. And what purpose living organisms give to themselves is survival. Every living organism has one thing it is to survive. But why must we survive, no clue.

Thanks for sharing. This is quite thought-provoking. After reading your words, I think: what if the survival is meant to be for one organism to feed upon another. Something like food chain, so the world can sustain. This thought is somewhat cruel and horrifying, I know.
I agree with you that survival is like a food chain. But the world doesn’t need organisms to exist neither do the universe. I’m more concerned with why do we have to exist. Of course unanswerable question but worth asking.
