One of my units at university requires us to work in groups for the entirety of the semester. The unit has 3 assessments and we have just handed in our second. At the beginning of the semester it was working out well, i thought i was working well with them and became less anxious about being around them. i had mentioned from the start of the semester that i was working full time- babysitting, the week the first assignment was due and wasn’t readily available. I kept saying this each meeting. unfortunately i couldn’t attend a major meeting due to these commitments and had to work from home. I had to wait for an email that was supposed to come that night but didn’t arrive till the next day when I was at work. I handed it back to them- all finished- an hour late due to that late email. I then couldn’t help anymore as I was working. Since then they have acted differently towards me. The week before the second assignment was due I became extremely ill. Despite this I did what they wanted before everyone else had finished it. According to them my work couldn’t be understood and they needed to rewrite it. I did the final edit on the paper because there was ALOT of grammar and punctuation mistakes, however it took a forceful email later to convince them to do the edit. They handed in the piece of work with a section called ‘things that weren’t done’. In that the only faults that were pointed out were mine, not theirs and the contributions and achievements I did were classed as a team effort- essentially making me look like I did nothing. I have shown my work to the teacher and they have said that my work is much clearer and easier to follow then what they have submitted and when I showed people what they had written about me which was handed into the assignment, they said that i was straight out being bullied. its difficult to explain the whole story and background on here but I just wanted to get another opinion. I honestly don’t know what to do anymore in regards to this and im not sure how to interact with them knowing now the extent of what they have done. anyone got some advice??? ps, thanks for reading through it lol

Lol, their probably just upset that it didn’t go as they had planned it. That’s the thing with group assignments, EVERYONE has to be on the same page or else things start to go bonkers. In high school, it is easy to get around it. But i’m guessing for college it is a a lot more stricter. In the end, just go through with it and never worked with them after the assignment is completed, or tell your professor that you can’t stay in that group for ” personal ” reasons. Hope this helps.
