Spoken word:

Depression, it’s that feeling you get when you wake up but you can hardly breathe.
They tell you that you belong in an insane asylum, with the mentally insane and the murderers and the broken.
Depression, it’s the scars you leave yourself with because that blade is your only friend, the only one always there for you.
The people are deaf to hear your cries in the shadows, to see the boy who hides his life from himself because he’s afraid to cry. But only because society says it’s not ok for a man to cry.
Depression, it’s the though of committing suicide to get you out of the hell life.
But that’s not the end.
Who are they to say you belong with murderers only because you’re bipolar. Because you’re a danger to others.
Depression, it’s the heartbreak that you feel of loneliness because that’s all you’ve ever been. Alone.
Depression, it’s the feeling that pushes you over the edge, into a world you know nothing about because nobody speaks truth anymore.
Obsession, to the music, the books, and the poems.
Obsession, to these things is what keeps you going, why you’re still here.
Obsession, is the reason this never ends.
