Mom’s First Birthday

Can’t believe it’s that time of the year…
I remember what happened to mom exactly a year ago. Her birthday present was being a day away from the hospital. I was so anxious to please her and decorated the house with Christmas ornaments while my brother went out to get her a wool hat.

But she never wore that wool hat. Not because she didn’t like it, but because she never had a chance to… It’s been more than 9 months since she passed away, but when I have flashbacks, sometimes it feels like 9 minutes ago, and sometimes 9 years ago.

You have no idea how much we appreciate you for fighting for us to the last minute. We all know you gave it everything you had.

I was too much of a teenage boy to tell her that I love her, at least not until she became unconscious. And that’s something I’ll regret forever.

I’m sorry for I was not a better son.

Happy birthday mom. I love you.
