In January of 1993, I arrived back at Loyola University-New Orleans after having to take a semester off. Long story short: I got into a near-death car wreck and needed recovery time. I was lugging my things up to the 5th Floor of Cabra Hall (just under a mile away from the main campus) via the elevator. I was in a foul mood because my trip down was long, the heat and humidity was killing me (since I was coming from the cold weather of New York). On one of my trips up was where I met Julie. Here I was with a cast on my right arm trying to balance my things with my sling and in a horrid mood. Julie was happy, chipper, and actually quite friendly to me despite my grumpiness. If it weren’t for a mutual friend, I don’t think we would have talked much after that 1st meeting. I’m glad we did and my 2nd impression was a lot better. It’s been over 19 years since that time and I’m glad to say that “Juleigh” is still one of my closest and dearest friends. It just goes to show that sometimes, a second chance may reap you benefits beyond your expectations. Happy Birthday Juleigh…and thanks for giving me that to me. Love you much – Reechard
