We could use a different level of thinking in this world for the old buy and sell trip doesn't cut it for anybody anymore. You can only get so excited about material objects because they are perishable. Our soul is not perishable and needs to be nurtured certainly more then we do now. We need to get life is a spiritual journey and not about where you are at compared to your neighbor.
There are so many things that we need to understand as spiritual human beings and I hope that we will someday be able to do just that. Everyone will know why they are here and what their individual purpose is.
It’s about the experiences not what you have. Although, some would beg to differ. Material things can become a distraction to some other issues, yes. But you can sit around throwing judgements all day and still not truly know people, as much as you want to say you do.
I’ve recently found a good way to start your spiritual journey, it’s by finding your inner self. I have also done a personality test recently and found out that I’m what they call the advocate or INFJ-A. That could help other as well.
I think people should drop the ego and find their inner essence. I’ve met a neighbor recently that lied to me about having a college degree just to find out she didn’t even have a high school education. The thing is one could never find themselves in this world by hiding behind an ego. Because at the end of the day you could be the best neighbor, the best friend, the best SO and someone would still find jealousy, hate, or whatever else that harbor with in them . In order to find yourself you would need to remove most of the people from your life (especially the ones that carry a heavy ego around) to find what’s needed.
Just as in the hierarchy of needs, the higher spiritual needs are at the top (Maslow, 1971). The higher, less selfish nature is said to build and rest on the foundation of the lower, more self-centered nature (Maslow, 1968). The former, it is noted, would collapse without the latter.
Therefore without love/belonging and the next esteem you could not reach the top needs like spirituality.
