Love Work Family Friends Games Kids Life

Yes that’s the truth. Humans nowadays work so hard to earn money and don’t even have time to really enjoy them. Yes we do have our vacations and weekends but we still think about work and we only have so few vacations after long periods of hard work.

I know all these but I can’t really do anything. I have chosen to live in Singapore. The work culture requires me to work long hours and work as efficiently as I can. No wonder most families here need a live-in helper. I don’t see myself having one because I don’t believe in wasting money for things we really should do ourselves- like taking care of kids or cooking our own food. It’s such a great joy to be able to cook your own food.

And I don’t want to have more financial commitments. It’s already so expensive living in Singapore. I do have my own ambitions for my career and my life.

I find my current job not bad at all. The career path is to become business leader – that’s to lead everyone else including the specialist experts. And all you need are soft skills – people skills, management skills, business acumen.

Yes the hours are long – i do work well beyond 9-5 but it’s because I choose to work more. I want to learn more and I want to get promoted.

My current salary is not high. I know it clearly and I have also tried my best to get it raised twice over the past 3 years. I will either get it raised again next year in March or I will get a new job in another agency doing the same thing.

My plan is to live as simply and frugally and wisely as possible while getting more income from my main job and other sources of income that I’m slowly building now.

Sometimes I do feel so pissed that I have to take care of baby so I don’t have much time for myself. Then I have to admit that my friends in the US even have a tougher life! Some have to be stay-at-home moms – well that sucks because I hate being a dependant. Also, a baby is the greatest investment I can make! He immediately returns me so much joy and happiness every single day.

So yes life sucks and humans suck but I have to accept the facts and live my life to the fullest because that’s the only choice that I can be happy as a human living this life.
