Why do I feel as though I'm never gonna be good enough for anyone, including myself ? No matter what I do, I always compare myself to other people .Whether it be how good one looks or how smart they are , I always feel as though I'm a disappointment. I'm scared that , I'll always be a shadow of myself .This is never ending and it's such a torture. Cause it just dawned on me that…. It's been this way for me for … forever ! And it's not going away. And I don't want to spend the rest of my life being this person. This insecure, not enjoying life kind of person. But then again, I don't know what to do or how to change that . And it would be so much easier if I could just learn to love and appreciate myself and work on becoming a better person .However, always something happens and I find myself "hating " me even more. What do I do ? How do I fix that ?

You could get counseling or just stop comparing yourself to everyone. It helps if you are genuinely appreciative of what you have. Everyone has something or more than one thing that they can be proud of. Try building confidence, get hobbies, focus on only you. Make you the best you that you can be. You will stop caring what others think and are doing if you focus on you and yours.

Also, gaining an education was helpful for me. I didn’t gain much of an income but it really built confidence knowing that I could and did get a college degree. You also learn so much, not only about you but information too.

you can’t just tell one someone to just stop doing something, that isn’t helpful when they already said they don’t know how to stop.

I believe we all compare ourselves to others always, but I think its good to surround yourself with people who think highly of you. When you tare yourself down a lot it just becomes more ingrained. I think having good people in your life help buffer some of that self hate. I do this every once in a while. Think about someone or a few someones who you think are the sweetest/kindest people in your life/world, what would they say about you? How would they describe you? and if that doesn’t go well try instead to describe them and ask yourself if that isn’t what they would turn around and use to describe you? sometimes its easier to imagine what they’d say about you after you’ve put your mind into a positive state thinking about how you think about them first. I think it might help you see yourself in a better way over time. It’s not easy to jump start a journey to self love but I wish you all the best, Good luck!

This is clearly the same person expect for the first post. I know that because it’s mine.
It’s called mindful thinking! But I’m sure you know it all.

Mindful thinking is “It’s the ability to be aware and mindful of your thoughts. To ground yourself in the present moment, acknowledging what you are thinking and feeling – but without being reactive to it.”
So, yes you have control and only you!!!
