Our top management refused to take a pay cut and decided to lay off people instead. Such greedy people! The government already subsidised 75% of our wages for 3 months but the employer is still not satisfied. Seriously! We are still business as usual and not much affected in terms of business operations. Okay the revenue will surely be lower due to clients cutting cost however we’re still working and bringing in revenue. At least for my client, they’re still paying us $66,000 a month. No change at all.

Damn sian.

I’m so disappointed in R and K. I hate K so much. She’s f***ing lazy!! The worst manager I have ever had. The reason I’m still sticking around is that I haven’t been able to find anything decent. I have to say that the corporate world is tough and it isn’t easy to find a good place. So even though the current one is quite crappy, other places may be even 10x crappier.

But of cos, I will keep looking.

Why don’t you just test out other job opportunities. You could get to know a new company, apply, maybe even an internship. If you like it and it’s a good fit, then take it. You might get surprised and not have to look too far.

Better yet, strive to become one of the top management member and force all the rest to take a cut in pay and benefits. Watch them squirm, then fire them a if they detest.

Yes the fear of leaving a job for something worse… is most likely the reason they treat you like crap while they vote in an increase of their own salary and benefits.
they are probably playing the “Gotcha by the balls card game” knowing they can pull this crap and get away with it.

75% Government subsidized payroll and still layoffs? Maybe the government regulating body should be made aware that the funds are being manipulated, misappropriated or misdirected. Hummm? wink. Anonymous of course.

They may not get in trouble for anything, but the auditors will sure make them think twice if they think they are paying attention. Be sure to mention that management gave themselves hefty wage increases, but did not include the employees and are laying them off.

Just my thoughts, but need more information, just going by what it sounds like.
