Posted by Anonymous on 2014/09/17 under Uncategorized i belong from a middle class family in india. my mother a teacher and my father had a small business. i had got a job but i had to leave it due to certain issues with my boyfriend. my boyfriend is very conservative and possesive regarding me. thats not a problem. i cant let down my parents. i love them very much. they want me to get a job. i even got two jobs earlier but had to leave both as it was out of my state, and my boyfriend didnt had a consentover it. i was scared to join the job as i had the fear of losing my boyfriend. on the other hand its high time for me to do a job for financial concerns of my parents…. whenever i look at them i feel guilty of not being able to pay off their old age worries…. i keep studying whole day and praying to god to give me a job in my state soon. ……….. my heart is flooded with negetive thoughts now……. my parents and my boyfriend both are my oxygen …. but paying them their part is like two sides of a same coin at a same time…….
I think if your boyfriend really loves you and cares for you, he’ll understand the struggle you are going through and give you the freedom to do what you want, in this case, to let you work outside for your parents. The first rule of loving someone, I guess, is that they should be happy. And so what’s the point of this relationship if it’s suffocating you. Just saying…if he is that possessive, maybe it’s not worth it.

The fact that your boyfriend doesnt trust you enough to let you work interstate should tell you a lot about your relationship.
